EMD GP9/18: #300 and #301: when delivered had a Leslie S-2 (horn D*) mounted on the short hood, just off center in the middle of the hood, and a Leslie S-1 (horn D) pointed in the reverse direction mounted off centerline between the cooling fans in front of the exhaust fan. #300: a photo dated 4-72 shows a Leslie S-3 (horn E) mounted on the long hood between the front fan and the dynamic brake fan, in the centerline of the hood. #301: photo dated 6-68 had a Nathan M-3 R1 (horn G) mounted on the short hood right side towards the front. #302: photos dated 1-63, 3-71, 2-76 show a Nathan M-3 R1 (horn G) mounted on the cab roof over engineer’s side toward the front of the cab roof. #303: photo dated 7-74 shows a Nathan P-2 Rl (horn J) mounted on the cab roof over engineer’s side toward the front. #304 (1st): had a Leslie S-3 (horn E) mounted over engineer’s side halfway from the front of cab. #304 (2nd, after rebuilding): had Nathan P-3 R2 (horn K) in the same location as #304 (1st). #305: photo dated 10-67 shows a Nathan M-3 R1 (horn G) mounted on cab roof over engineer’s side toward the front. Another photo dated 12-76 shows a Leslie S-3 (horn E).mounted in the same place.
GP38AC and GP38-2: #310 thru #325: all had a Leslie S-3 (horn E). mounted on the centerline front of cab roof when delivered. #310: in a photo dated 3-76 had a Nathan P-2 Rl (horn J) mounted in the same place. #311 to #325: all had Leslie S-3 (horn E) mounted the same as on #310.
FT: #500 thru #506: all units had two Leslie A-200’s (horn B) mounted on the cab roof, one horn pointed forward on firemen’s side, and the other horn pointed to the rear on the engineer’s side.
F-3: #510 thru #528: all units had two Leslie A-200’s (horn B) mounted on the cab roof, one horn pointed forward on engineer’s side and the other horn pointed to the rear on the fireman’s side.
F-7: #560 thru #574: had a Nathan M-3 R1 (horn G) mounted over the engineer’s side only. #572: in a photo dated 6-66 had a Nathan M-3 (horn F).
